Hunt: Showdown is a relatively old multiplayer FPS game (2018) developed and published by Crytek on their own game engine. Hunt is set somewhere in the 19th century post civil-war American south and as a result, offers a slower paced shooting gameplay compared to Battlefield or CallofDuty action-filled games with infantry and vehicle warfare. It does not feature artillery barrages or has player classes such as magician, tank or a healer. It is a simple solo/team of cowboys fighting on a map of 12 players. I have personally never heard of Hunt or was interested to play it before my friend introduced me, and think that you won't start either unless you try it.

Hunt also offers the ability to play in various styles from "stealth" to "guns-out" and utilse its best based on the versatile combination of weapons it has to offer. There are close range shotguns and bows or long-range sniper rifles that will suit your needs.

Hunt runs well, has low PC requirements and is not expensive. But the best part of the game is the community. Once you join the game, you can enter the official Hunt discord channel where you can find teammates and start playing within a few minutes. Playing in a well communicated team makes the game appear in its full potential. Its easy to jump in and out for a few games when you have time and come back whenever you feel like. Only drawback of the came to my knowledge are the Crytek servers. They occasionally lack in stability and if you have Magenta as your provider, some games have an uncomfortable ping. But the drawbacks are minor and do not affect the overall gameplay in a serious manner.
